Hello

Both my gaming pc and my Macbook Pro run 32 bit Vista Ultimate, which is fine. But noticed a copy of Windows 7 ultimate going in MM which im just wondering about.

My gaming rig specs are:

IP35 Mobo
Q6600
285GTX
4GB 6400 memory
500GB Samsung 16mb cache

Macbook Pro:
2.33Ghz (cant remember name of processor)
2GB memory
160GB 32mb cache

Would i see much difference in speed of apps and such? I do really like vista, so not sure if its even worth upgrading to Windows 7, what do you lot recommend me doing?

Yes i only use Windows on Macbook pro, can't stand apple's OSX, just incase anyone questions that.

Thanks

The question i would ask is why buy a Macbook if you only use it for Windows? Seems like a massive waste of money to me.

Anyway, get it if its the 64bit edition. Your gaming pc will take advantage of it as it has 4Gb ram. It will be faster than Vista either way, so i'd do it.

Thanks a lot dude.

Ah why not lol... Tried OSX out for a month and really couldn't at all get on with it.

Planning on trying it on my MBP first, which im guessing 32 bit will be better for. Will have to wait till i get another HD for my Gaming pc so i can do a clean install without losing anything.

Moving from 32 bit to 64 bit is more of a boost than simply Vista to Windows 7.

Windows 7 is certainly more efficient in certain areas than Vista but don't fall for the assumption that the latter is a bloated piece of cr@p, because it isn't.

If you had Vista x64 then I'd recommend you stay as you were, but since you could really do with a 64 bit OS then Windows 7 is the obvious choice.

As for the MBP - kind of a bummer you didn't like OSX but at least you have a nice looking Windows laptop!

well just done a fresh install of windows 7 ultimate 64bit.

feels a lot simpler and better to use, though i did like vista i think im already very happy with this windows 7 and it's only been on my computer a hour.

cheers guys.
