When running Windows Update on Windows 7 I keep getting a failure notification with the error code 80092004.
The "Important update" of which it is a part is:
2019-10 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows 7 for x64-based systems (KB4519976).
Research suggests that this particular error relates to KB4340558, a problem with .NET.
As it happens I am not aware of any .NET "issues" affecting me but would like to resolve whatever is causing the update to fail . . . has anyone else encountered this problem and found a way round it?
I did wonder whether I could "remove" all traces of .NET form my system somehow and then download the current version of .NET - would that work and if so, how would I do it?
Thanks in advance
