Windows 7 Update?

So I've just booted my laptop up which has RC1 Windows 7 on it, and during boot it was installing updates and updating the registry (the one string I saw was components), and just before the logon screen it was 'completing windows update'

Now my missus has used it ealrier today but she said it didn't download any updates or take ages to switch off.

So my question is, has anyone else RC1 updated today? Not entirely sure what's happened.
