can somone please just verify if i am right in think that once the windows 7 upgrade advisor has been run and shows the results it will warn if i need to download any drivers for my hardware, so the compatable hardware does this mean windows 7 will instal the driver for that hardware ?

it warns i needs belkin drivers for my usb wireless dongle, a few bits of hardware need updated with windows update after installation, the rest of my hardware is compatable. I just want to know i dont need drivers for the 'compatable' hardware.

I would assume, but that can sometimes be a mistake that Windows 7 will install the drivers for you, but I do recommend you look on the hardware vendors site and download their own drivers…..

Microsoft does a good job of trying to get pretty much most, if not all hardware component support into their software to, at the very least, get the O/S running out the box… However we all know that vender written drivers that conform to the WHQL and are signed by Windows will work much better…

It is also worth noting, as I found out to my own shock, that Windows 7 will not allow you (or at least the 64bit version) to install none signed drivers unless you boot with F8 and select ‘disable driver signing’.

so if you've got a bit of hardware that's not support by Windows 7 but you can get some type of driver, but its not signed, you'll have to work a little harder then before to get it loaded into the O/S..
