I have a laptop with xp home on it.
Today I bought Win7 Pro 64 from the student offer.
When I boot the disk (which I downloaded from MS) from startup (won't run in xp as the disk is 64 bit) it goes and says it will move all my xp files to another folder and halfway through the installation when it has to reboot, it comes up with choose the installation.
This makes me think it is creating a dual boot?
I want to do a clean install
I just want a clean install of windows 7 and my xp deleted.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I have a the RTM disk that I used on my desktop with an MSDN code, could I just install it from that?
Would be much easier if it just asked for my win7 key and then asked for an xp/vista key as well as proof of the upgrade
