Windows 7 Upgrade Program with new PCs

Hi

Does anyone know if Microsoft are going to offer free upgrades to 7 with new PCs bought with Vista for a few months before launch of Windows 7? The same thing they did with Vista where if you bought a laptop between October-ish and January, you got a free upgrade to Vista when it was launched in January.

Im sure Ive heard July rumored about this for 7, but not sure. My GF needs a new laptop and shes prepeaired to wait untill July or so if it means a free upgrade to 7 come October.

I contacted Msoft a few weeks ago with the same question. The lady said she would expect so but they haven't been given any details yet.

Yeah, Googling it seems that they have confirmed the program, but not the dates yet.

^I don't really see the relevance, the upgrade will be to the final version of Win7, not beta.

June 26th. But you'll probably want to get a definitive answer on eligibility from the OEM before purchasing the laptop.

Cheers. I asked a guy in the Sony centre and he looked at me as if I was speaking a different language or something. Might drop Sony an email.
