Windows 7 Upgrade

Hello there!

Im building a new PC myself, the one thing I was unsure about is getting Windows 7. As a student you can get a copy of the Windows 7 Professional *upgrade* for £30. I'm eligible for that, but obviously as I have a brand new custom build PC it wont have XP or Vista on it.

So I was wondering whether with a copy of Windows 7 Professional upgrade, can I still install a full version of Windows 7 onto my brand new PC or not? Do you HAVE to have XP or Vista already installed to be able to use it?

Thanks in advance

Jamie

Hmmm so two different answers. Just can't find a definitive yes or no, the reply I got from Microsoft was an email telling me how to install Windows 7.

Just contacted the store and they said I can use it to do a clean install and get a full version even though I don't have a version of Vista or XP. Straight from the horses mouth so I guess it's fine with them, just makes me feel a bit edgy! Thanks very much for your help guys
