windows 7 usb speed slowwwww

Ive tried updating my chipset drivers on my motherboard but my usb speeds are still shockingly slow ie 3mb mp3 will take 10 minutes...

What am I missing?! its a Asus P5Q Pro, so pretty standard affair?!

I've got the opposite situation. My USB transfer speeds are fast but FireWire 800 is horrendously slow and eSATA doesn't work! I attempted to transfer 40Gb of data yesterday to an external drive and the estimated time by FW800 was "More than one day", but only about 35min by USB.
The same external drive connected to my MBP by FW800 imported a 16Gb video in 30 min, so I know the drive is fine and the problem must be Windows 7 drivers.

its a Asus P5Q Pro

had same prob usb was so slow, even when was installing OS from usb.
when disabled floppy in bios it sorted it for me. worth a try g/l

its turned off so no joy ? anymore ideas before i throw my pc away lol
