Hi,

I've purchased a Sony Vaio laptop with preinstalled custom sony/win 7 software and need to change the operating language (icons etc) from English to Slovak. Can this be done?

if its not already installed you will need to install the slovak language pack
go to control panel/region and language/keyboards and language

Thanks,

Marmalade, that Youtube clip is helpful but my language features doesn't have the same options to install additional and the exe. won't load......

I'm only running Win 7 Home ed. 64bit....

Windows 7 language packs are available for computers that are running Windows 7 Ultimate or Windows 7 Enterprise. The Windows 7 language packs can be installed only from the Optional Updates section in Windows Update. However, these language packs are not available on the Microsoft Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) server or through the Microsoft Download Center.

Other than in Ultimate ( to which I have added languages) I assume the Windows 7 must be in the language of choice when installed. The answer maybe to get a copy of Slovakian Windows 7 Home and try installing with your key/serial as fixed to to your puter. Perhaps someone in Slovakia can send you a copy - outside Slovakia copies are like hens teeth
