Which one you would prefer and would feel comfortable to work on? I always like windows 7 its very user friendly all the software are right near my eyes. I did not use windows 10 or windows 8

what you guys say about this?

I still prefer Windows 7 on any production machines. Windows 10 does not work with some of my software (Corel draw x5 im looking at you!) I have Windows 10 on my tablet and its excellent.

Then again, I still have 4 Windows XP machines for my laser cutters, so there you go :D

i did not like W8.1 to start with but that was only down to the start menu missing etc.

since W10 has had the start menu back i have no issues with it.

if you have 7 and want to try 10 do the upgrade to it and if you dont like it within 30 days you can roll back to 7.

Come on, no Windows OS is hard to use, WinXP, Vista, 7, 8, 10 all easy to use.

If you are asking which I prefer well Win10 due to better security, longer life span and the OS that will have better future support then dying Win7.

I got rid of Win7 years ago, best thing I did.

Windows 10

I use windows 7 daily at work, would love to have 10 for all the daft little things that are built in to it that you need external utils for on 7 (window management, faster searching etc).

10 all the way.

You may as well keep up with it. If you kept up and moved from 7 to 8 to 8.1 to 10, the differences seem smaller and easier to get used to etc. Plus you will eventually be forced off 7 like most have been forced off XP.

Windows 10 (pro) for all the reasons stated above plus It looks so similar to 7 if looks are your thing.

I went from 7 ultimate to 10 pro without the intermediate and some would say flawed 8 and 8.1.

I have had absolutely no issues worth recording.

Windows 7. You still have just under 4 years of security updates remaining. Don't let anyone rush you.

Just think Win7 is coming up to seven years old.

I wonder sometimes if some people realize every OS has a limited life span.

As to rushing well if they have not upgraded yet, then good chance they'll wait until 2020, think they are in for a shock when they do move on in 2020, they'll probably need retraining lol ie take away old Start menu they fall to pieces, take away a whole OS , well that's a whole new matter :p (Joke).

I use 10 across all my computers now. Only thing I don't like is how the system settings are split across Control Panel and All Settings, e.g. Region and Language settings.

I was sitting on the fence up until a few weeks ago. I had always planned to trial windows 10 before the free period was up but was expecting to roll back to 7 after everything I had read about 10. Guess what? I actually like it. I did the upgrade from 7 which went flawlessly, used it for a couple of weeks and then did a fresh install on a brand new ssd (I have gone ssd only now). Once it's tweaked and blocked from reporting home I haven't really touched it. Some things are done differently in 10 and some things are called different names but essentially it's little different to 7. My desktop looks the same with none of those awful tiles, Cortana is well and truly disabled, all the rubbish bloatware MS forces on us has been disabled or uninstalled (including the store) with the help of CCleaner and many guides on the net. It just works!!

I have systems running 7 and 10 side by side and I prefer 7. 10 has many good or getting to good features and some things are a big improvement or have potential to be a big improvement however a number of aspects completely ruin 10 for me and sadly it is largely MS being obstinate.

7 is simply aesthetically more pleasing on almost if not every level - which isn't an insignificant factor when you are using a system for hours each day.

Windows update in 10 has been implemented with no regard or respect for the end user. Starting to become a bigger issue as with several users sharing a connection and the number of Windows 10 devices increasing results in more unmanaged utilisation of the internet connection due to Windows update which can at times cause inconvenience to other users i.e. online gaming - we have an agreement normally to do things like Windows updates, torrents, etc. as much as possible outside of times it would conflict with other people.

Lots of stuff you have to spend time disabling or tweaking like cortana, privacy aspects, etc. (That isn't to say I don't tweak 7 at all but 10 has a lot more annoyances like silly notifications, etc. that have to be done and often redone after major updates).

While there are some nice improvements (copy dialog, etc.) explorer overall is worse than 7 (as an aside if any MS dev ever reads this an entry listing currently open explorer windows in the left hand navigation pane would be useful - maybe even the last 2-3 that have been closed - showing as greyed out to separate them from the others as well).

The app system is held back from how useful it could be as MS seem to be grasping onto control too hard and trying to lock it down to much and not letting it be the great feature it could be (which kind of negates reasons to use the OS over 7).

10 all day long.
Mainly due to modern apps, actually get notifications.
And basically nothing has changed for all the old style stuff.
