Windows 7 welcome screen delay

My Win7 install used to sit on the blue welcome screen loading for around 30 seconds before going to desktop (Im set to auto login), Does anyone know why installing http://www.ngohq.com/home.php?page=dseo and enabling test mode (was trying to get ATitool working) fixed it?

It diddn't happen in the Win7 build on very similar hardware I did for a friend and was stumping me until I stumbled on this. Now I reach the desktop in 15s after POST and am very happy.

Go back through the event logs for boots prior to installing it and see if you have any messages/errors about things not loading. It could be that something was failing to load but taking a while to time out and that installing that app has either fixed it so it now loads, makes it time out quicker or has just stopped it trying to load.

Could have even been ATT as I think that installs some kind of driver/service for it to work.
