If it's a partition on the same drive, then does it matter ? I guess this is down to user preference really. If I had my files stored locally then everything would be on another drive bar the OS, but that's just me.
Well this is for a laptop so single drive, was thinking of doing it in case the new user of it screws up the OS, atleast then I can just reinstall Windows and there data can remain in place on the separate partition.
Well the ones I have on the server are Music, Videos, Pictues, My Documents and Downloads. I just amended the Library location and it was sorted. This may also be good for your user.
You said desktop as well. Knowing how utterly messy some people can be with saving EVERYTHING to their desktop, then that would probably be a good one to move as well.
Oh and christmas hats didnt work. actually they do, doh.
Yer I know, I'll often save some files to the desktop though, but with stardock fences, a simple double click of the mousey and its all gone.
Just need to get the person in the habit of putting stuff in the right folders.
God christmas day is going to be full of what's this, how do I do that questions... as its going to be a pressie, think I'll start drinking early.
