Ive just put a new cpu+mobo+ram into my pc and did a clean copy on windows 7, but now it won't activite, I thought as long as it wasn't an OEM version, which it isn't, that it should activate fine? Anyone know what to do:confused: I'm certainly not shelling out for another copy.

Thanks

Any idea what time the lines are open, recon i could ring them now?

its a 24hour auto service which if that doesnt work then you go through to a call centre in india (i think) which isnt too bad since you just tell them you are reinstalling they should give you a code to enter

number should be on the tool that said you cant activiate on the drop down list that says UK

When you replace a certain number of key components at once or a set amount of times you're required to activate over the phone, especially when replacing the motherboard. Since you have a retail copy of Windows you are licensed. The call is free, automated and should only take 5 minutes give or take :). The instructions are listed above in SiriusB's post ^^^.
