Here is a preview for those that havent installed Win7 Yet
Ignore the HDD score as im useing a crappy hdd to demonstrate...

This is to show those of you with you I7 Cpus what you can get. :)
this OS is going to blow peoples minds its just so much faster than vista x64.

To be honest i thought the 4870X2 would have gotten a higher score
but if you look further down it says this in small writeing...

*GPU test is based on 1 GPU, in a multi GPU system the score would be higher*

Memory scores are though the roof ;)

Cpu scores TBH lol i thought i would have hit 7.9 but when that test was being done aswell it only used up 70% of my CPU power, so in reality it should have been 7.9

i also noticed that when the test takes place, it only bumps GPU 0s memory to 3d speeds and core is still at 500/900 and GPU2 500/500

This test was useing : windows vista x64 Build 7137 Ultimate.

I agree about the 4870X2 - I get the same paltry 6.3 for that, the rest are: Processor 7.7; Memory 7.9; SSD Array 7.8

Still like you said Win7 does fly!:D

Don't worry about the Windows 7 experience index rating. It isn't indicative of real-world performance in any way and as mentioned above, even a Core 2 Quad scores over 7 so it doesn't scale well enough to give you even a rough idea.

With that said, I'm getting:

CPU (i7 @ 4GHz) - 7.7
RAM - 7.8
Graphics (8800 GTX - I don't game anymore) - 6.1
Gaming Graphics - 6.1
Hard Disk (Raptor 150GB) - 5.1

For some reason my Raptor score changes sometimes if I run the experience index tool again. Sometimes it'll report 5.9, sometimes 5.1 but never any other values. This is yet another reason why I believe it's a useless rating.

I had a strange thing. On my Vista set up my ram is like 4.8 but in Windows 7 it is as high as my processor at 7 ish.

The WEI just seems messed up lol

My 36GB Raptor gets me a 5.5 (lowest score of the components) but the previous Seagate 7200.10 got a 7.4.....

V odd

God, are we on 8 cores now!

My antique B3 running at 98c under load for 2 years...
With: 4x 5yr old 80gig on raid, 8800gtx, 4g ddr2 at 876 (never could get 4 sticks run at 1066).

Does anyone know why a 10krpm velociraptor would only score a low 5? If that wouldn't get a high 7, what can?

Does having a raptor (even an older one) make that much difference?

Processor: 7.4
RAM: 7.3
Graphics: 6.5
Gaming Graphics: 6.5
Primary Hard-disk: 5.9

=(

SSD drives. Simple really. Since the top score is 7.9, if you gave a raptor 7+ then you wouldn't have enough to increase by.

CPU 7.6
Ram 7.8
GPU 6.4 (NV295GTX)
GAM 6.4
HDD 5.3 (crumby 250mb boot drive which doesnt hold swap file)

w7 RC1
