Right, I have 2 partitions on my Main HDD, one is a 50Gb for XP 32-Bit and the rest is for my Windows 7 install (previously Vista HP).

After installing windows 7, XP will no longer boot, I have run the bcdedit commands to get it on the bootloader but after I press it I get a black screen and the PC reboots, selecting Windows 7 is fine. Im at a loss, Google'd for ages and cant find anything.

Any suggestions?

My only suggestion is to use the windows xp repair function to fixmbr (this will temporarily disable 7) then install EasyBCD to xp and use it's feature to reinstall vista bootloader (same as 7) and point it to the 7 directory. I've done this before, it worked out pretty well, only thing is you get the vista green bars instead of 7's boot screen, but it still runs fine.

You mean in the root directory in the drive? (E:\) in this case.

I have NTLDR there and NTDETECT.COM
