Right, this is pretty "nooby" but ive never quite understood this. What exactly do you get for the extra money you pay in the professional versions of Windows? is it simply a few extra programs? or is there better performance ?
i know that 32 Bit only supports a max of 3gb, and 64 supports up to i think 12, but also apart from that i dont know the difference between 32 an 64 bit.

Any information is welcomed thankyou :)

I suppose in a nut shell, you are allowed to use Pro in a corporate environement and get all the goodies involved in running a large network, but you also lose out on some of the home features.

Different editions just add extra features, for use at home it's unlikely you'll need anything more than Home Premium. There are no performance differences.

64bit if your CPU supports it, you have 4GB or more of RAM and want to make use of it all, and you don't rely on any hardware or software that won't run on a 64bit OS (unlikely).
