My hard drive recently died, i've bought a replacement will i be able to use the same windows 7 key ? Or will i have to buy a new one (expensive) ?

yes, you'll be fine.

You'll be able to use the same key even if it's an OEM copy, although you might have to activate over the phone which is easy enough.
