Hey folks,

I finally took the leap forward and upgraded to windows 8.1 using the ISO method (thank you Captain Crash!), everything seems ok right now but I read somewhere that when using an SSD as your operating system drive Windows 8.1 will defrag this.
Is this true and if it is is there anyway to stop this and just let windows optimise it normally?

Many thanks in advance.

i read that too but i cant find it,for me when i click it it says trim for two or three seconds and trims the ssd but it doesn't defrag it

ive just let windows do its thing, been fine

Ah ok, so if I enable the optimisation again then it won't defrag at all? Sorry I'm not doubting what you say, I've just read a lot of people online complaining about this and I literally have no clue as far as SSD drives go:confused:
