Hi guys I was hoping someone could help me out so here is the question. Im in the process of building a new pc and hadnt got round to buying a operating system, someone suggested trying windows 8.1 enterprise 90 day trial. I was going to burn to a dvd from a laptop and it says on the website it needs 20gb storage space so would I need a dvd that has 20gb storage available or is it compressed to a smaller gb?
Probably a dumb question but thanks for any help.

the 20GB is the amount of hard disk space it needs to install.

the actual file you download will be something around 4GB which will fit on a normal DVD.

i just realised i didn't word this very well...

which will fit on a normal DVD.

just incase you don't know, do not create a data disc with the ISO file on it. you need to burn the ISO as an image. most DVD writing software will have this option.

if you have a large enough USB stick you could even use that instead. if you do, i recommend using this tool to create it...

also bear in mind you will never be able to actually activate the enterprise edition if you decide to keep it as Enterprise is a Software Assurance product available only to volume license customers with SA.

even if you want to pay for it you cant. the highest you can go is Pro.

Use one of these ISOs with the core or pro cd key. It will give you some sort of trial and an option to activate Windows using a purchased product key at a later date.
