Okay so my friend has a PC and his PSU literally went up in smoke the other day due to a blown/leaky capacitor. Upon him bringing it round I discovered literally everything was fine except the PSU. (SSD/HDD both fine) Now, he got a new PSU plugged everything in boots to windows 8.1 happily. His storage HDD isn't showing in windows. This disk had been used for oh 6-7 months initialized etc.
However the disk shows perfectly fine in BIOS + in my windows 7 machine (all data is there is accessible can read/write to it, is in disk management/device manager etc)
Basically the HDD exists. Isn't dead, is perfectly healthy but doesn't show up in Win8.1 disk management/device management/command prompt disklist.
No idea why it's behaving this way and googling around gives little to no help what so ever. Any helps appreciated!
