I switched phones recently and made the move from WP to Android. To copy my contacts I had to go onto Live.com and make a csv file to copy into google. Anyway, I'd forgotten the password so reset it. Since then, whenever I log into my PC I get an incorrect password error and have to type the new one in.

It's obviously stored the old password somewhere but I'd like to sort it out again so that it automatically logs in to the desktop like it did previously without any typing business going on.

Thanks in advance. :)

Thanks guys, none of those have worked though, i'm being an idiot i'm sure but I still get an error every time.

Use netplwiz to disable auto-login then reboot and see if you get the same error.

"Users must enter a username and password to use this computer" should be ticked.

That's what's making no sense to me, it is unticked.

I set up a new administrator account and tried that, same error. Then reset my Microsoft account password on my original account, re-entered it, same thing, I'm totally stumped?

Open Control Panel then Credential Manager and see if your Live account is in there. If it is just update the password there and see if that cracks it

Thanks chaps, ticked it, unticked it, entered new password, reboot and straight to desktop. Told you I'm an idiot. lol.
