windows 8.1 intermittent shutdown prob

moved from 7 to 8.1 recently just to give it a go and im starting to like it apart from this annoying problem.

occasionally when shutting down, windows will say its shutting down, monitor will turn off, mouse / keyboard are unresponsive but tower will remain on. :confused:

Try disabling fast startup and see if that helps http://winaero.com/blog/how-to-disable-or-enable-fast-startup-in-windows-8-1/ .

I did have a similar issue and in my case was a driver issue,so if disabling fast startup does not work then it could be a driver issue(in my case it was a bluetooth driver).

shutdown seems to be working so far, but (and im not sure if it did this before or not) it wont resume from sleep. pc wakes / powers back up but does not display a picture. any useful tips?
