Windows 8.1 KMS Activation

Can anyone tell me what KMS key type is needed to allow for volume activation of windows 8.1 clients.

Will a standard Server 2012 R2 KMS key suffice as the documentation suggests. As a Server 2012 R2 KMS key should activate Server 2012, and Win 8.1 clients I believe.

Hi,

We've set up our KMS recently for exact same thing. As far as I remember its the same VLK key for Server 2012 R2 and Windows 8.1. (Same as the Windows 2008 R2 KMS key did both Windows 7 and Server)

Don't forget you need 25 machines to contact your KMS to reach the activation threshold
