windows 8.1 pro alt tab out of games, gpu usage 99%

hia ive recently installed 8.1 pro and every game ive alt-tabbed out of runs at full load while on desktop.

this is quite annoying as you can imagine.

ive heard its a feature of windows 8???

applies to all applications. think its to help speed up transition between apps.

can it be disabled??

AMD crossfire?

Disable ULPS if so. The latest beta of MSI Afterburner has the option to do it for you.
