Nothing wrong with 8.0. I'd be surprised if they're asking money for it from current customers and calling it an update, one or the other I think.

It will be free to existing Windows 8 user as it's a .1 update. Originally service packs used to add features and functionality all the time although this stopped around 8 years ago as adding new functionality in service packs annoyed enterprise customers who would have to retest apps etc.. XP SP2 is the last feature adding service pack I can remember. The world has moved on now with a demand for constant releases so MS can revert to little and often updates rather than one massive change every 3 - 5 years.

I'm hoping the 'pricing reveal' is a limited time discount for new licenses, like what they've done for the last couple of versions. Charging Windows 8 and Windows RT users for the update would be a mistake.

Nothing change just little update but MS should put option to choose classic, metro, morden and aero thst give people to choose which one to use and leave rhe start buttin there cos without it it cause confused and too much problems.. should put optional to choose that would make it easier

If they just gave you Windows 7's UI with some of the "new features", then it wouldn't have been such a flop. Or at least have an option of 'touchscreen' mode for the tiles.

Then it would be Win7 and groundhog day ie nothing changes ,no progress,no new ideas or layout etc...no thanks,I'm glad they tried something different ,18 years of same UI is more then enough for anyone IMHO.

I can't understand fixation with holding onto the past, things change move on etc...do you see Linux Distro's stay the same, obviously not so why should Windows?
