After upgrading to windows 8.1 the windows system image backup fails with the following message

The backup failed

There is not enough disk space to create the volume shadow copy on the storage location. Make sure that, for all volumes to be backup up, the minimum required disk space for shadow copy creation is available. This applies to both the backup storage destination and volumes included in the backup. Minimum requirement: For volumes less than 500 megabytes, the minimum is 50 megabytes of free space. For volumes more than 500 megabytes, the minimum is 320 megabytes of free space. Recommended: At least 1 gigabyte of free disk space on each volume if volume size is more than 1 gigabyte. After googling this appears to be a common problem, before proceeding further I thought I'd ask the experts on here what to do first?
The fixes I've read this morning seem to point to re-sizing the recovery partition? This is what I have:

I'm thinking of using Macrium reflect to do my backups in future. I need to do a firmware update on my SSD system drive so need to do a backup first.
I'd appreciate your advice folks.
Cheers
Al
