Windows 8.1 trial period?

I'm selling my old PC without an OS but for the sake of being able to show it all up and running can I install me windows 8.1 pro and not enter my activation key, and if so how long would the trial period last?

Reading into that it says this:

Following the evaluation period, you will need to replace the operating system on your test computer and reinstall all your programs and data. It is not possible to upgrade the evaluation to a licensed working version of Windows 8.1 Enterprise. A clean installation is required.

Didn't really want to sign up with technet etc. it's only for a machine I'm selling and as long as the OS lasts a month all is good.

So I take it I can't just install the copy I have and get a months trial out of it?

Win 7 definitely gives you 30 days

AFIAK the only version of win 8 that has a grace period is Enterprise. All 7 versions give you 30 days and you can re-arm them 3 time to give you 90 days.
