Hello, I've done some searches and not found anything that seems relevant, hopefully this is the right place for this.

I'm trying to upgrade my laptop to windows 10 from 8. i first have to upgrade to 8.1, but I can't seem to be able to. I ran a program called winupcompat to see if there are any issues, and got this message:

Minimum system requirement not met

Your PC is running an enterprise or volume licensed version of windows 8 and cannot be updated using windows store. contact your system administrator for more information on how to update your PC to windows 8.1.

Is there anything I can do to get around this to upgrade to windows 10?

The laptop is an acer aspire e 15 start.

Thanks for any help.

It's actually my girlfriends' laptop, and I'm not familiar with windows 8. I tried following a guide about it and there was some sort of searching for updates screen that I left for a few hours and nothing happened. I've now done the updates through the control panel, they're downloading now.
Hopefully this will work, although I'll feel a bit daft for not thinking of it before.
cheers.

Ok, embarrassingly, it's running 8.1 already. I sort of assumed it wouldn't have come with 8.1 on it but looks like it must have.
Although I'm not getting any messages about upgrading to windows 10, which also made me think it was 8.0

sorry for wasting your time.
