Hello folks,
I have Windows 7 Home Premium retail that I upgraded to Windows 8 Pro via retail DVD that I have now upgraded to Windows 8.1 via the Windows Store.
Now if I ever want to do a clean install it would appear that I need to go through two previous operating systems before getting back to 8.1. Is there any way or a scheme offered by Microsoft where I can swap the above for a Windows 8.1 Pro DVD and a licence key so I don't have to go through the double upgrade process should I ever need to format my drive?
For example I have upgraded my Mac to OSX 10.9 Mavericks from 10.8 and if I chose to re install the OS now it will go straight to my currently licenced version so I don't have to install 10.8 Mountain lion then upgrade to Mavericks once more. Can something similar be done with Windows?
Thanks
