Hi all,

After updating to windows 8.1 all seemed fine straight after the upgrade so I turned off the computer and came back to it the next day and now it won't boot. It loads until after the windows symbol has gone it says please wait and then I get a black and blue flashing screen.

Ive tried looking for how to fix it and tried what others have done by booting in safe mode disabling the graphics card and downloading the the latest beta driver from the AMD site. Then boot into windows normally and install the download and then enable the graphics card and restart and it had worked.

Unfortunately for me disabling my graphics card doesn't allow me to boot into windows normally.

Hi all,

Basically I dont want to do a fresh install as im going to lose a lot of my wifes work that she has been doing. So I was thinking I have a new SSD I was planning to install but hadnt got round to it yet. If I installed a fresh windows 8 onto that and then installed my old HDD as the second hard disk I could then just shift the files she needs from the old HDD to the new SSD. Or could she just use these files straight from the old HDD? (The files she needs are on microsoft office)
As I have not had any ideas on how to sort the issue I was wondering if you think this would work?

If I

cheers for that I will try your first suggestion and see if that works.

Just been upstairs fitting the new SSD. Will disconnect it before doing anything.

Uninstalling the drivers resulted in uninstalling the graphics card completely. Again still had the same effect as disabling the graphics card. Looks like Im left with one option and that is install onto the new SSD unless anyone else has any ideas.
