hi

I would like to install Inssider (wireless channel search program) onto my windows 8 laptop , when I go to install it says It needs NET framework version 3.5, should I install this version?

I thought windows 8 comes with a newer version so dont want to install something older or will it be fine.

thanks

Applications written with a specific .NET framework version require that version.

All .NET versions can co-exist on one machine, I've had 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5 all installed on one computer due to various bits of software requiring them all.

It's on the installation media. You can install from Control Panel / Programs and Features / Turn Windows features on or off. If you don't have installation media at hand it will download from internet. Some programs will require a specific usually older version. They work fine after installation.
