Windows 8 Auto Login

I've always set my laptop with windows 8 installed to log in automatically by running netplwiz and unticking users must enter user name and password to use this computer. Tonight I restarted my laptop and windows started to update and then restarted but stopped at the login screen and asked for my password. I entered my password and entered the win 8 start menu but now when I restart my laptop it asks me to enter my password at the login again. I went to run netplwiz again and untick the users box but that box is no longer there. Anyone know why?

There is another thread lurking around here with the same issue, I think the problem the other chap had was that he had joined it to a domain at some point. Is/was your laptop domain joined?

It happens evertime i install windows update KB284533, anyone know what this update does?. If i do a system restore and don't install KB284533 my laptop auto logs straight into windows and if I run netplwiz the users must enter a username and password to use this computer is now there to select.
