So, I have W8 on an SSD and was thinking about going back to 7, however is an SSD just as easy to maintain in 7 as 8? I heard 8 has better support for SSD's but in what way?

Also would I just install windows 7 as usual on the SSD (format > install off disc)?

Cheers

Don't get me wrong, I like Windows 8, but I've just downloaded The Witcher 2 (about 18gb) and I can't progress past a certain point because it might be something to do with W8, which is annoying so I'm probably going back to Windows 7 just cause it seems more 'safe' for now

more than likely a driver issue than the game, as it didn't get flagged up with a google search for known game errors with win 8 etc

with all the latest patches, forums say it works fine

Running Witcher 2 fine here on my Win8 Pro x64,does sound like something else causing the problem, btw I'm using latest Nivdia drivers for my Nvidia video card.

Sound wise I'm using Asus XONAR DX with default drivers.

I've got the latest nvidia drivers, also posted on the witcher 2 forums but their solutions didn't work.

Seem's to be underclocking my gpu as well, reading at 405mhz in MSI afterburner and the game runs at 15/20 fps, wtf?

well have both and have no issues with either tbh, both pro running sdd, and both gaming pc, as stated above, win 8 maybe slightly quicker, has latest dx11 verison, but apart from that there's not much difference speed wise with sdd for me, but then again im not on samsung one's either, im using adata pro 256gb on both win 7 and win 8.

no probs on either with fresh installs both run and tested fine, benchmarked both apart from cpu different and vga different etc same drives got almost the same scores.

3926 / 3998 win 7 / win 8 with passmark latest version

Nice to know, cheers.

I think I've fixed my game problem it was due to my gfx card overclock, so I think I will stick with 8 for now but it's nice to have feedback just in case
