I got windows 8 down load and ordered the backup disc as well on release day. No problems with the down load and install of windows 8 but I still have not received the back up disc. On the email receipt it says "We'll send you another email to let you know when your Windows DVD has been shipped." which I have not had but when I log on to the account it says the disc has shipped. Anyone else get the backup disc and how long did it take to arrive and did you get the shipping email? There is also no contact info except an address in Germany.

Out of interest why did you go for the back up disk when the option was there to download the ISO?

Its all I did, burnt the disk, slipped it into my win 7 case.

if you look at the email it says it will come in 5 to 7 days ,
i also ordered the back up disk, nice to have a hard copy not just a burned copy ,
i am also still waiting and you have to contacted the microsoft store by email,it takes a few day for them to reply or ring if you put your phone number on the email,
i did get them to send it out again for free but nothing upto now ,still waiting

I have ordered disc's from that company in Germany before, and it has always taken 2-3 weeks to get the disc.

The backup disc arrived today after 17 day. It's a simple card sleeve with 2 disc's 32 bit and 64 bit, each disc has windows 8 and windows pro on them.

Must be a big demand on those Win 8 disc's, waiting 3 weeks, and 3 days. I have ordered disc's off that crowd before, and it has never taken this long.

This is what I did.

I made sure I looked for an ISO option and used that.

Quicker to make your own free via Win8 Upgrade assistant,I've Win8 Pro dvd ISO made and bootable Win8 Pro on USB stick as well.

I dont remember ordering a back up disc when I downloaded Win 8.. is it possible to order now?
Yes. There is a link in the email that MS sent you with the key. I suspect that you could also download it again and save the ISO. I downloaded both the 32 and 64 bit versions, using the 32 and 64 bit preview versions.
