For those that have upgraded, what kind of boot-to-desktop times are you getting from a cold boot with SSD. Which motherboard are you using?
I'm thinking of buying one of the Asus P8Z77 series and it would be great if it was sub-15 seconds :)

TIA

i doubt it would be sub 15 seconds,it would be around 15 seconds with a new/clean install, with programs and services added as time went on it would be around 25 seconds, thats what im getting on z68 and win7,i cant see win8 being much quicker but i could be wrong

ive a z77 asrock ex4 with windows 8 i hit the power button on pc then turn screen on its loaded so im under 10 secs easy.

just turned it off and then back on 11.1 seconds im using a ssd too though. its the same install as the win 8 release date and ive installed a load of crap too.

its probably win8 being quicker idk, plus its down to what mb you use, some are slower due to post/bios screens and what not

Sweet! I saw this board had a good review on Anandtech's Z77 shootout but I've never bought ASRock before. I'll have to do some more research I think :)

Side note: Manufacturer websites really need better filtering when it comes to browsing motherboards. Some have a comparison features but they limit it to like 5 models when they have 15 for a single chipset...
