Windows 8 changing PC's..

So I am going to sell some parts (MB/RAM/CPU/SSD), and currently have Win 8 Pro, from the £25 offer from MS on my SSD.

Can I simply reinstall Win7 onto my HDD, then upgrade to Win 8 (using the license key again)?

To be clear.. this will be the only copy of Windows 8 running just on a new machine/hdd.

I can confirm that you have to use phone activation. I did this as well but on different laptops.

Seconded (well 'thirded' ;-)

). You press the Customer Support link to get to the phone activation, and I was able to reactivate without any problems at all after changing motherboard/ram/cpu.

You don't even have to talk to anyone though, after you enter your code, it asks you how many computers you have it installed on, press 1(for 1 computer) and it then gives you the number.

So much easier than previous licenses (points to MS for this one... for once).
