Ever since upgrading to Windows 8 control.exe (Control Panel) and cmd.exe both run in administrator mode every time, so whenever I open them I'll get an unnecessary UAC pop-up.
I have created a temporary test account and don't get the problem there.
I have also checked the permissions on the two executables and they're correct (default).
Any ideas? I know I could re-create my profile, but I can't really be bothered
