Windows 8 drivers

Hello

I want to update my laptop Tom with windows 8 it's hp so I went on their website and all they list for the drivers is windows 7

Does that mean I won't be able to update or will windows 8 find the nesssary drivers

Help pleAse

You call your laptop Tom?

If there are 7 drivers it will probably be fine. What model?

It's a hp dv6 3130sa entertainment notebook pc so you are saying the 7 drivers should work

windows 8 has a driver data base as good if not better than windows 7 has, if your not sure it will work etc, use

h88p://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows-8/upgrade-to-windows-8

that will say what driver will and what wont work so at least you can search for them before you try

See what Windows 8 can find and install for you.

You can also use this to auto detect and install all the Intel based stuff: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/

As for the AMD GPU, this will also auto detect and install: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/auto_detect.aspx

Network drivers on the other hand will be a tad more difficult since HP uses different ones (your model comes up with 11 different ones

).

However, there is one driver which I know Windows 8 won't install for, and that's the touchpad drivers. The basic ones will allow you to do the basic stuff but for the more advanced stuff like setting the right side for scrolling, mouse gestures, etc. you need this: http://drivers.synaptics.com/Synaptics_v16_2_21_C_XP32_Vista32_Win7-32_XP64_Vista64_Win7-64_Win8.zip

Thanks for your help if there is an issues with network drivers should I just try the hp ones
If there is an issue what errors will I see
