Prob been asked already , I guess its buried in the windows thread , but just a quick confirmation , internet pages say no , but are somewhat getting out of date .
Does windows 8 work on overclocked cpu"s and cards , and will there be any benefits against W7 . if yes ill put up with the tablet rubbish .
If not ill steer clear . Thanks .

yes it is compatible with overclocked hardware, but the tablet rubbish included, is a real big put off, win 7 is probably a better bet

Dislike Windows 8 a bit but chances are longer term you'll get better support on Windows 8 and improved drivers over Windows 7. If you were obsessed with performance I'd opt for W8.

I haven't seen any real data to say that there's any performance difference between Win 8 and Win 7 for gaming.

Gaming, just stay on Win 7. Some Steam games have problems with Win 8 (my experience).

There is no difference between win 7 and win 8 in gaming and as for drivers
well that comes down to the second party that supply them i.e NV\ATI\Intel ect

there might be an edge for windows 8 in fps.
Personally I go with a faster OS as its design to go faster.

It's been posted all over the net win8 has NO GAINS in games over win7.

It's designed for multi systems not fast, it's the jack of all trades and skilled at none.
