Hello I been having issues with Windows 8 with Sound. No matter witch Drivers I use I get sound lagging/stutter/popping.
It turns out am not alone with this after Google-ing the Net they is loads having this problem right from Windows 8 beta.
Can people here Run this program Windows 7 Or Windows 8 and answer yes or no if you having sound issues. Has you can see from the DPC Latency Checker Windows 8 is at 1ms and jumps up to 5ms and even worst, this is when my sounds start stuttering. I believe they is nothing I can do but hope Microsoft release a fix to bring the Latency back to how it was on Windows 7 :(

I noticed the same after reading a post of yours in another thread this morning.

However:

Nevertheless my W7

I don't have the spikes that you have, This indicates a driver issue perhaps.

Thanks for reply. I have disabled a lot on-board sound/Sound card/Network/USB devices nothing brings it down or stops the spikes :(
I want what you have all Green :D
I see this Program not down to work correct on Windows 8 but it still shows me having issues with RED spikes

I think I have stopped the spikes Happening (well I Hope)
I ran cmd and entered bcdedit /set disabledynamictick yes its a new feature in Windows 8 used to save power when CPU is idle i think lol
I see this posted on another windows 8 Latency thread. DPC still shows 1ms but has Sighn pointed out this could just be program issue.

Before if I ran prime95 I would have loads Red spikes now it just stays at 1ms :) more testing is need tho.

Well I stopped the spikes, but still getting sound issues :( I somehow can't even see Microsoft fixing it, this Latency issues has been on going since the Beta and Microsoft has ignored it.

Only thing I can do now is wait on More Windows 8 drivers support. Apart from this am liking Windows 8 but if this not sorted I might has well go back to Windows 7 where everything just worked.

It's more your vendors vault than Microsoft. I haven't noticed anything on mine (though the Windows 8 drivers are a bit rubbish as they don't allow mic and sound on Skype just one or the other!).

Wait for them to mature?

M.

Yer am going to be waiting on Drivers. I dont understand why Asrock don't have a single Windows 8 driver on there page yet.
I can get Sound card driver from Asus witch is Beta.
Realtek Driver from there site, same with Network from Broadcom. Its the Chipset Drivers I want now I have seen Intel will soon be releasing them is it OK to install Chipset drivers from Intel or should you go with Motherboard manufacture?
