I doubt anything major. Microsoft could do with opening some shops over here to sell their Surfaces, Xbox, signature PCs, Lumias, keyboards, mice etc.

I,ve read somewhere its going to be £45 until feb 2013 then its going to be a lot more :(

i found this not sure what the cost in pounds is :)

Microsoft's Windows 8 Pro software will be priced at $199 after a promotional price of $69.99 expires on January 31st 2013, according to one source familiar with Microsoft's plans. The software maker will also offer a Windows 8 to Windows 8 Pro upgrade option at retail stores for $69.99 until January 31st when the price reverts to $99.99.

Microsoft previously announced its $39.99 Windows 8 Pro upgrade pricing for existing Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7 users — a price available exclusively online for those wishing to download the software without a DVD option. Retailers will stock a $69.99 Windows 8 Pro option in stores, one that may be offered as a traditional full version of Windows for those without a previous copy. Both the Windows 8 to Windows 8 Pro and Windows 8 Pro copies will be made available from retailers on October 26th.

I think that's from a Verge article and I'm not sure how much I trust it. The OEM price is going to matter the most and I can see it being more expensive than current OEM licenses.

Expect more whining.

I bet they walk onto the stage with R.E.M - It's the end of the world as we know it playing.

I think it will be exactly the same as the current oem pricing.

If you want pro it would be cheaper to buy Windows 7 Home Premium OEM and use the £14.99 upgrade to Widows 8 Pro offer.

Fairly sure I read it was £24.99 to upgrade to Win8 Pro from Win7/Vista/XP:

Seems like a great deal to me, you can get the Pro version of the latest Windows for less than £25 just by trading in some crappy old OEM XP Home license on a 10 year old PC. I'd imagine most people have access to that even if it just getting the key off some redundant kit a relative has in their loft or whatever. Cheapest I've ever known Windows to be, never mind the Professional version.
