I just cant get it to work without the Username/Password dialogue box popping up.

Homegroup is OFF
Password Protected Sharing is OFF
Folders are shared with Everyone

Both PC's Win 8, what am I missing.

Have you tried turning off the sharing wizard so you can manually set the share permissions in explorer --- view --- options?

In the username/password dialogue box there should be a checkbox which says "Remember my credentials". It won't ask you again. For your username you should be using "computername\username"

If you don't have a password, create a special user just for sharing purposes and in computer management add him to the IIS group (which should stop it showing up on the logon screen).

creat a user with the same name and password on each machine and job done.

In my house (Shared house) my server accounts have a limited account called Lymore (our street name) as username and password on each machine and it works with out issue.
