windows 8 oem help needed

Google for Personal Use Licence.

AIUI you buy the OEM version but you can transfer it between computers that your own.

Much better than the OEM versions of Vista and Windows 7 which are not transferable.

Ok so I am able to put it on all the pc's in my house?

No it's tied into the first computer you activate it on. Significant hardware changes will require re-activation, I believe!

A full retail copy will still only allow 1 pc at a time, but you can deactivate it and then re-activate it on a seperate system(s). In other words, you'll need multiple copies of Windows 8 if you want to run on multiple system simultaneously.

Well at some point I plan to get a new hdd, so I would have to buy a new version of it?

Edit: is windows 8 worth it? And does it work on any system?

You can change the HD or any other component.

If you are using new components I would expect W8 to work.

You can order Media Centre for free until the end of January.

The cheapest approach is to buy and old retail XP licence from ebay, then download the W8 upgrade for £24.99

theres NO win8 retail

win8 upgrade and oem u can transfer the license to a different computer, as long as you've built the computer/installed it yourself and you've removed it from the old computer.

what does windows 8 mean?I am so confused. I need a operating system for my new build and I can only seem to find windows 8 oem can some explain what that is
Buy the oem disk and then register for PUL.

Buying an old XP retail licence from ebay, and then getting the £24.99 Win 8 Pro upgrade it would probably cost less!
