Hey Guys,

I've been on Windows 7 ultimate since launch on my Windows PC and I have decided I'd like to upgrade to Windows 8.

Now I have always bought the retail version so that I can move it from PC to PC as much as I want (which I do a lot over the lifetime of me owning the OS) but I cannot see Windows 8 Pro retail on OcUK, only OEM?

I have bought all my copies of Windows from OcUK and would like to again (tradition and all that) but I won't get OEM... have things changed in the world of Windows where OEM can be installed on multiple machines (not simultaneously of course)? Or is it just that OcUK no longer stock retail version of Windows?

Any help will be appreciated.

OEM version can now be reused like the old retail copies. Microsoft recon you can activate it 4 times, with hardware changes, without any issues but time number 5 may need you to call them up.

But yeah, retail doesn't exist anymore, OEM is retail so to speak.

Ah right so it has changed, that is all I needed to know!, cheers fellas!

As said license has changed.
Oem is now effectively retail, which makes win8 so much better value than win7.
The license allows you to reuse it as many times as you want as long as its only installed on one computer at the time.
Even if you have to phone them its still automated, after you input the info, it asks you how many computers its installed on, as long as you press 1 it spits the code out.
