Hello
I've been having this problem for a while now and it is so annoying. When I turn on my PC I either get stuck on the log in screen or get stuck on start screen and unable to load anything. It eventually works but takes ages to get it going and I try to avoid turning off my PC once it is. I've tried to reinstall windows 8 from boot but it isn't allowing me. Also when I go into advance options like repair reset etc it doesn't allow me to do anything.
Any help will be great as it is really frustrating. Been trying for last1 1\2 hours trying to get on PC.

If you can get it to boot to desktop have you tried these to check for system corruption http://m.kapilarya.com/fix-do-inbox-corruption-repair-using-dism-in-windows-8 its handy when SFC /SCANNOW can't fix the issue, remember to run as admin to ie if you use command prompt to fix issues use admin one.

Also I would run memory test on ram as well.

Event viewer and reliability history also might point you towards the issue.

Why aren't you able to reinstall Windows?

Please give more information.

For some reason it wasn't recognising the disc and also the usb drive that I have windows on.

I think I have got it all sorted now as I managed to reset it when I finally was able to log on.
