Ho Ho Ho!
(Windows 8.1)
Yesterday the computer began running very slow all of a sudden and had intermittent screen flickering followed by a crash stating it had to restart. It attempted to switch off the computer but it remained in the switching off screen for half an hour and so the computer was powered off forcefully. When the computer was switched back on it said it had run into problems and needs to diagnose the issue. It couldn't find a cause and simply switched itself off. We then yet again switched it on and followed the onscreen prompts and got it to boot up to the windows home screen.
Things seemed fine at first but within moments we realized no applications would load. Everything was just getting a bunch of error messages. Mcafee failed to load too. That's when the screen flickering became permanent and made it very difficult to navigate. So we restarted the computer again but this time the computer screen remains blank permanently. There is no flickering. We cannot tell what's being displayed on screen and whether it's stuck at Bios or if it's loaded to the windows home screen. I have very little knowledge of windows 8 and where the settings are stored or navigated through so the blank screen is making it very difficult. What would be the best thing to do in this situation?
I can safely assume the computer is infected?
Thanks guys! Ho Ho Ho
