Windows 8 Secure Boot: Two Linux Distros Respond

Personally i don't see the problem most people will want Windows, IOS or Android.
Linux always has been used by a minority (myself included) but there will always be vulnerable hardware people manage to install linux on, problem solved.

screw ms I only use window as I play games would gladly swap over time to linux and stuff like this is pushing me that way quicker!

Oh its arm devices only?

My thoughts also, besides, the new metro ui sucks... Hopefully Win7 will be all I need for games for a long while & this board may last longer, so I don't have to skrew with that UEFI junk. It makes no sense that MS can legally do this, if they made motherboards ya lock them, but leave others alone!!!

You do know that this only affects the ARM versions, and only if the hardware vendor wants to put a certification sticker on their product?

Dont let the facts get in the way of a good MS bashing thread! And yes, i dont see why they are doing this either... oh, they are Microsoft, now i get it.

Its actually damn good idea. Otherwise whats stopping anyone booting from a USB stick and accessing or wiping etc all files?

That's something I've done quite a few times in the past to recover systems, or at least the data from unbootable systems.

Exactly, its a piece of hardware at the end of the day - if your really that bothered about people booting and grabbing files, then use VMware enterprise desktop, sun ray, or any other terminal server and a dumb laptop/terminal. Problem solved!
