so what setting / mods / tips have you all done on your tabs?

So far disabled password login.
God mode folder on desktop
Shutdown .exe file.

Thats about all I've done I think.

I'm not sure disabling password prompts is a good idea on a portable device, not a "tip" I'd recommend. Heck on my Nexus 7 (Android) it's encrypted and prompts for login whenever it's brought off sleep mode etc. There's simply too much personal info, accounts etc on it to risk handing over to anyone even if it rarely leaves the house.

You shouldn't have to turn a tablet off that regularly that it matters, are you sure you have a tablet for the right reasons? As frankly you seem to think it's a desktop/laptop from the tips you've posted so far.

My Nexus 7 is never off, it's rebooted for updates but other than that it's always on even if on standby. It's heavily encrypted as it'll be one of the targets should my house be burgled and if I lost it or it was stolen when it's out of the house there is simply far too much personal information, bank account apps, passwords etc on it for me to feel comfortable having it unlocked and unencrypted.

Heck even my desktop has Bitlocker on it and I remove the USB key required to boot it when we're away for more than a few hours.

Why would you shut down a tablet. Just leave it in connected standby mode, by pressing power button.

Picture password is very good,

Saying that on ipad, I only enable password protection when I take it out the house, and disable it when in the house. Would be nice if w8 had a similar auto login/password login option, but I don't think there is.
