Windows 8 update utility troubles

hi all

have just installed Windows 8 enterprise edition on a laptop at work (Fully legit microsoft approved, not torrent),

am currently having trouble using the update utiltiy.

it seems to get to roughly 40-50% sometimes 100% but it always comes back with an error.

all proxy settings have been set and has been set to works proxy server.

have tried going into the software distrubition so see if they can be manaully installed but there is no .EXE files or anything to install them with.

have also ran the troubleshoot but no luck

so can anyone offer any guidance?

Are you attached to the company domain and is it set to get it's updates from a WSUS server? It could be the WSUS server needs an update to correctly work with Win 8 clients.

**** problem solved ******
sofware distrubition folder was renamed to softwaredistrubution.old and web browser was opened in background and this solved our problem!

we also already have a WSUS server and this will be configured for win 8 once we now wether we are going to be using win 8 on multiple machines so this problem shouldnt rise again and also by that time hopefully MS will have fixed it by then!
