Hi,

I've recently upgraded to Windows 8 Pro and have been playing around with it for over 2 weeks now. Due to my SSD failing because of a dodgy windows 7 restart, I had to re install everything, and to quickly test it I created an account called testing. Since then I carried on using the account and added a my Microsoft account to the profile. However I have 2 issues now, I can't change the user account from the name testing, not much of an issue but it looks stupid when looking through my user files!

Also when I login I was able to use the 'netplwiz' command to make it so it boots straight through without needing to login, however I get a "Other User" logon give me an error, so I have to press the arrow back and click on my profile and then login? Any reason why it is doing this, I have no other accounts or users created. I have just this 'Testing' account which is now my main user.

Many Thanks

Fixed the name of my account -

Went into Regedit and changed the following:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList

I selected the profile which had C:\users\Testing to a random name, logged out and back in, which set me in a TEMP profile, I then changed the name to my user name of the account, and then signed out and back in and it changed the user profile name to what I wanted. So that's that, but I still can't figure out this 'Other Users' issue when logging in from a restart or shutdown.
